Guest Lecture – ‘Placental Dysfunction in Fetal Growth Restriction’

We are glad to announce the upcoming guest lecture by Assoc. Prof. Jo James on the 23rd of July, 2pm, at Seminar Room SR 73 (MC.2.M.01.009).

Associate Professor Jo James is a placental biologist based in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Reproductive Science at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She leads
research combining in vitro experiments at the cell and tissue level, in vivo imaging data, and in silico
modelling approaches to better understand why placental dysfunction occurs in fetal growth
restriction. Her work encompasses a wide range of interacting processes including trophoblast
biology, placental stem cells, utero-placental and feto-placental vascular development and
haemodynamics, and more recently the heart-placenta developmental axis.
