In my PhD project, I am interested in systemic and placental alterations in sphingolipid metabolism during normal and compromised pregnancies. Currently, I am comparing sphingolipids and inflammatory profiles in blood, placental tissue, and feto-placental endothelial cells from obese and normal pregnancies to understand their contribution to dyslipidemia and adverse maternal and fetal outcomes.
