Metabolic disorders such as maternal obesity and diabetes influence placental development and have long-term consequences on the offspring.
In my PhD project, I investigate the interaction between the maternal environment in obesity and placenta development early in pregnancy. My main interest in understanding how the maternal metabolome influences placental proteome.
